Sent Together to Heal

We aren’t islands – wrapped up in ourselves.  We are born for community and for building bridges between each other. We are created to ‘one another’ one another. Love one another. Serve one another. Help one another. Encourage one another. We all have a God-shaped void that desires something beyond ourselves. He wants us to reflect His nature to those around us.

So we don’t just sit on our free gift of salvation.

We are changed. We want others to know. We seek to restore and help those around us – Jesus-believers or not.

Isaiah 61 and Luke 4 tells of Jesus’ purpose on this earth:

18 “The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to set the oppressed free,
19     to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour.”

Isaiah 61 has a fuller text. Matthew 10:8 also encourages us to heal the sick and cast out demons.

Give as freely as you have received!
